The Project

This one came to us the way most of our best jobs do — the homeowners had watched us reroof two of their neighbors' houses. They'd seen how we work, seen the finished product, and when their own roof started giving them reasons to worry, they already knew who to call.

The roof was over 20 years old and it showed. Fiberglass mat was starting to show through in patches all over the surface. That means the granules — the part of the shingle that actually does the protecting — had worn away. It hadn't started leaking yet, but that's not really the point. Once you're looking at bare fiberglass, you're looking at a roof that's done its job and is asking to be replaced.

We tore the whole thing off and replaced it with CertainTeed Landmark in Granite Gray. Partway through the job, a storm rolled in. That's just part of roofing in North Idaho — you plan for it. We had everything tarped and covered before the first drop hit. No water got inside, no damage to anything. Just a pause, then back to work.

The homeowners were easy to work with from the start. They'd already seen the quality up close on their neighbors' homes, so there wasn't much convincing to do. Just show up, do the work right, and leave the place better than we found it.
