The Parks Family and Roofing

Steven's grandfather, Sam Parks, was known as Sam, Sam the Roofing Man. He spent decades roofing in the LC Valley. Not a big operation. Just a guy who showed up, did the work right, and built a name for himself one roof at a time.

Sam taught the trade to his son Tim. Tim Parks roofed in the same areas for most of his adult life. Same approach. Same standards. Steven grew up around all of it, handing tools up ladders, watching his dad and grandpa work, learning how a roof gets built before he was old enough to care about any of it.

As a kid, Steven did not think much of it. It was just what his family did. He had no plans to follow that path.

The Army and Back Again

Steven initially wanted nothing to do with roofing. So he joined the Army. The military gave him structure, discipline, and a standard for how things should be done. But after his service, he found himself coming back to the trade anyway. The knowledge from Sam and Tim was still there. The Army just put a sharper edge on it.

Despite spending years trying to get away from roofing, Steven realized the trade was in his blood. He had the skills, the eye for quality, and a standard that was baked into him from childhood. So he did what felt right. He started Elevated Roofing Partners in Hayden, Idaho.

What We Kept Seeing

Living in North Idaho, Steven started noticing how roofing contractors operated around here.

A homeowner calls a roofer. The roofer says they will be there Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes. Maybe they show up Thursday. Maybe not. The homeowner calls again, gets a voicemail, leaves a message, and waits. Eventually someone comes out, gives a quote, and disappears for two weeks.

The work itself was not always better. Crews would skip steps or use cheaper material because the homeowner would never know from the ground. That is the opposite of how Steven was raised. When your grandfather built his name doing things right, you do not decide the cheaper version is close enough.

Why We Started ERP

Steven kept watching homeowners in his community get treated like transactions instead of people. He had the roofing knowledge from three generations of Parks men doing the work. The timing felt right.

No outside investors. No corporate office in another state. Just Steven doing what his family has done for decades, even if he tried to avoid it at first. The idea was simple: do the work the way Sam and Tim always did it, and tell people the truth about their roof even when the truth does not lead to the biggest sale.

What Veteran Owned Means to Us

For Steven, being veteran owned is not a label. It is a standard. Integrity first. Do the right thing even when no one is looking. Go above and beyond, not because someone is watching, but because that is the only way he knows how to operate. The Army reinforced what Sam and Tim already taught him: the work matters, the details matter, and cutting corners is not an option.

Our crews work for us directly. We know their names and we know what kind of work they put out. When we tell you a roof replacement will take three days, it is because we have planned it and we have the crew to back it up. When something goes sideways on a job, and things do go sideways sometimes, we tell you what happened and when it will be fixed. No dodging calls. No excuses.

New Company, Family Knowledge

ERP is a newer company. We are not going to pretend otherwise. But the knowledge Steven works from goes back to Sam the Roofing Man. The company is new. The way we roof is not.

Steven is on roofs every week. Every project we do right now is building our name, and that is a good thing for the homeowner. It means every job matters to us. There is no coasting on an old reputation. Every roof we put on has to earn the next one.

What We Are Building

We are not trying to be the biggest roofing company in North Idaho. We want to be the one where the owners answer the phone. Where you get told what is actually wrong instead of what makes us the most money.

Sometimes we tell homeowners their roof does not need to be replaced yet. A repair that costs a few hundred dollars is the right call more often than people think. We would rather do a small job honestly than sell a big one you do not need.

We handle replacements, repairs, inspections, gutters, skylights, and storm damage work. But what makes ERP different is that Steven brings the same standard Sam and Tim held for decades, and we are not going to water that down to grow faster.

This Is Home

We live in Hayden. Our families are here. When we drive through Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Rathdrum, or Sandpoint, we pass houses we have worked on. This is not a market we are targeting. It is where we live.

We serve North Idaho and parts of Eastern Washington, including Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake. If you have a question about your roof, reach out. One of us will pick up.

Got a question about your roof? We will give you a straight answer. No sales pitch.
